MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you Civil War buffs.  Time has been tight and illness in the family has kept me away from the blog.  However, things are looking up and I plan to be returning in the very near future.
I have embarked on a new branch of research.  This research deals with the 7th Regiment Mississippi Infantry.  My wife's great-grandfather served in Company I of this regiment from its organization until his capture at the Battle of Franklin.  I will be detailing some of his movements as he fought at Shiloh, in the Kentucky Campaign and on to Franklin by way of Georgia.
